PUBLIC SERVICE ACTIVITIES
You can expect a wide range of tasks, as the public sector is responsible for a wide variety of buildings - from kindergartens and gymnasiums to museums. You will not only be involved in the planning and implementation of new buildings, but also in maintenance, renovation and the protection of historical monuments. In smaller municipalities, you often take on additional tasks, such as budget planning or property management.
COOPERATION IN ARCHITECTURE AND PLANNING OFFICES
You often work on the design, approval planning, awarding of contracts, construction management and construction supervision. You will learn how the so-called "general planning" works, in which various specialized planning (building services, electrical, traffic, etc.) are coordinated, and you may already find out in which area you would like to specialize later. Depending on the office, you will contribute to the planning and implementation of a wide variety of construction projects.
COOPERATION IN COMPANIES OF THE CONSTRUCTION AND REAL ESTATE INDUSTRY
As an employee in the private sector, your earning potential is sometimes significantly better than in an architectural office. If you are good at dealing with construction companies and craftsmen, you can work as a construction manager. In the real estate industry, you can work as a project developer, overseeing the construction of new buildings or, for example, designing conversion concepts for properties and overseeing renovation and conversion.
