The dual Bachelor's degree course in Social Work combines academic study with practical experience and prepares you for work in the social sector. During your studies, you will gain an insight into topics such as social pedagogy, social law and social economy. With your degree, you will receive the professional title of "state-recognized social worker and social pedagogue", which is an important recruitment requirement for many social institutions.

State-recognised social worker or social pedagogue

System Accredited. IU is state-recognized and system-accredited by FIBAA. All degree programs are individually accredited and thus bear the seal of the Accreditation Council.

* Subject to state recognition of the degree programmes and approval of the Chemnitz branch by the Free State of Saxony. We expect the approvals of the ministries at the latest at the start of the studies. To date, all IU International University programmes have been successfully accredited and approved on time.

Content of the dual study program Soziale Arbeit

How do you mediate between feuding family members? What are the requirements for granting asylum? The dual study program in social work is dedicated to precisely these questions. It is based on a sound scientific foundation and is particularly method-oriented. In the course of your studies, you will deal with the goals, concepts and structures of social work, delve deep into the associated sciences and learn how to provide practical help - always case-related, true-to-life and resource-oriented. You will acquire an age-appropriate approach and develop intercultural skills in order to be able to effectively support people from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures.
