Konstantinos Amplianitis is an Entrepreneur, Technology Consultant and Academic. He has proven experience in deep-tech startups, raising startup venture capital, acquiring EU research grants with extensive operational & commercialization challenges in the field. Published numerous scientific research papers in top-tier international conferences & journals. Public speaker, scientific paper reviewer and occasional opinion writer in related fields.
He is currently a Professor in Computer Vision at IU International University of Applied Sciences in Distance Studies and co-founder & Chief Operations Officer at Volograms, a spin-off company from Trinity College Dublin that has currently secured €2.5M in funding to develop an AI-based technology that will allow content creators to bring their digital twin into the Metaverse and games.
Previously, Konstantinos was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Trinity College Dublin, and holds a PhD in Computer Science (Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany), M.Sc. in Geodesy & Geoinformation Science (TU Berlin, Germany) and a B.Sc in Geomatics Engineering (University of West Attica, Greece).
His research interests span in the areas of computer vision and machine learning.
