Part-time job in the dual study programme: This applies
Would you like to work alongside your dual study programme? Even if you work in a company as a dual study programme student at IU International University (IU), you are generally allowed to combine your dual study programme with a part-time job.
For example, you could consider doing a mini-job that does not exceed the 520-euro limit per month. This would allow you to supplement your financial situation during your studies. Your part-time job is generally notifiable. This means that you must inform your employer of your intention to take up any part-time work before starting the respective part-time job. In addition, the part-time job must not interfere with your work or your theoretical studies.

Working alongside the dual study programme: Advantages & disadvantages
Having a part-time job during your dual study programme can have some advantages but also disadvantages.
You can benefit from these advantages with a part-time job:
Mini-jobs are often not very demanding and can be done at the weekend, for example.
As you are not tied to a specific subject in your part-time job, you have a wide range of activities to choose from.
But for some students, a part-time job also has disadvantages:
For many students, the dual study programme is already time-consuming, so you often have very little free time with a part-time job.
The type of taxation of any part-time job is determined by the respective employer. It is generally possible that you will have to pay back taxes.
